180k through the night from Hackney to the Suffolk coast. Almost flat (Fixers special!), beautiful quiet lanes - well, once you’ve got past Epping. Leaves Pub on the Park, London Fields at 9pm. If the weather is good, there will be about 200 riders, all sorts, sizes and abilities. Track bikes to an articulated recumbent trike. Stop for food and rest at the village hall in Great Waldingfield, then bash on to breakfast on the beach at Dunwich. It’ll be a full moon, and a short night, so you don’t need fancy lights. It’s only countryside, you don’t need panniers full of kit. It does get cool in the middle of the night, and I would take some snack bars for the dawn munchies. Cleft stick or mobile always useful. Just don’t get lost........

This isn’t an Audax or a DATC event, it just happens - except it wouldn’t without Barry Mason, Patrick Field and the night-stop crew.

Hopefully, the trains will run in 2007. Otherwise book a coach place in advance. Barry Mason will be running his usual service.
